About Us

“THE SMME COUNCIL” is an independent membership-based organisation representing professional bodies, business associations and small business chambers with the purpose to advocate for transformation of the South African economy and graduate SMMEs into corporate companies in a time based timeframe strategy through aggregation, amplifying and complete implementation of government policies on small business development and the full and complete implementation of small business charter thought- leadership, lobbing and policy change to achieve meaningful inclusive economic growth for all.

The long-term growth and success of small business is inextricably intertwined with the creation of jobs and an accelerated economic development and industrialisation of the country and the world at large.

The only none racial and none sexist organisation, The SMME COUNCIL as the only organisation tasked with ushering in a new dawn in business and industry, the organisation represents small business interest without putting race and gender at task.

THE SMME COUNCIL is thus a key player in the dynamics of the business community in South Africa and has set itself an expansionary path that is aimed at embracing all elements of the business community no matter how small or diverse the interests of the broader South Africa community are.

THE SMME COUNCIL aims to ensure that small business plays a constructive role in the country’s economic growth, development and transformation

Through the formation of a small business charter, THE SMME COUNCIL aims to create an environment in which small businesses in all sectors can thrive, expand and be competitive.
